Girl in the Spiders Web 5 / 10

Don't mess with my favorites :cautious:The lead actress was good, but does not have the charisma that Noomi Rapace does. Noomi is the only Lisbeth Salander.

Close (2019) 6 / 10

Slightly better than average action movie thanks mainly to Noomi Rapace and Indira Varma.
imho just stick to the books or the original Swedish movies.

I thought Rooney Mara did a fine job in the David Fincher one. As remakes go, that one was good.

Widows (2018) - 8.5/10. Character driven thriller with a knockout performance from Viola Davis.

Velvet Buzzsaw (2019) - 5/10. A drama that tries to be something else like Ghostbusters 2 meets Devil Wears Prada. Its that stupid.

Call Me By Your Name - 8/10

Bit late to this one, but it's pretty great. Very lush and ephemeral, with great performances by Chalamet and Hammer. Supporting cast also knock it out the park, even with limited screen time. The Sufjan Stevens songs are also wonderful and fit the tone perfectly.

Dragonball Super: Broly (2018) Over 9000/10

Loved the bit about planet Vegeta. I wish they'd make a series focusing on that. Loved the score. Loved the action and energy.

Velvet Buzzsaw (2019)

Not sure where to start. The premise is interesting and the cast is stellar but it falls off with some of the characters and there's really no one you get attached to. It's worth a watch but feels like another missed opportunity by Netflix. 5/10.

Velvet Buzzsaw (2019) 7/10

This one kept me intrigued the whole way through. Some of the writing is a bit iffy but the premise, horror elements & satirical elements were all on point for me. Great cast as well.

Just finished Free Solo...

I nearly threw up a couple of times.

Incredible, mind blowing movie.

Agreed. Best movie I’ve seen this year.
Best DBZ movie ever as well.

Top notch female-driven heist thriller. Good pacing & a great performance from Viola Davis.

The Front Runner (2018) 5.5/10

Underwhelming political thriller that feels dragged out.

Just watched The Favorite during loadshedding...

Brilliant.

Also watched this last night. The characters are so whacky, and the quasi-fisheye lens filming technique in some shots really make an impression.

Olivia Colman is brilliant, as usual.

Have you seen The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer? Same director.
