Hunt for the Wilderpeople has been a huge audience favourite at festivals this year and you can see why, with its brand of dark New Zealand humour, coupled with a boy's own adventure story that goes not merely off the rails, but off-road and off-grid.

I've seen it and appreciate it, but the movie still didn't do much for me. The parts didn't really combine to make a satisfying whole.

Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016) 5.5/10

Has some laughs but just tries to hard. Too many elements of comedy (style) in one pot that fails overall.

I think it was misguidedly advertised as a gangster revenge movie when it was more of an arthouse film. If people knew what to expect when they began to watch it their expectations wouldn't have been let down. Anyway I really liked it.

So did I. Also thought the soundtrack was very powerful.

On another note: Who's seen Look Who's Back? Pretty disturbing, while quite amusing at the same time.

Creepy, psychopathic and tense. Riz Ahmed impressed me more here than in The Night Of. On the other hand, there isn't a whole lot of substance to it
