Deepwater Horizon (2016) 6.5/10

Action movie based on the 2010 Macondo blowout or BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

Out for a bit now but worth a mention. Tarantino never fails to impress and of course Samuel Jackson finally got the chance to redeem himself after failing dismally as a Jedi knight. As to be expected, the familiar Tarantino turtle paced build up took at least an hour or so after which all hell broke loose (think Dusk to Dawn with cowboys instead of vampires lol.) Stellar performances all round, great script and of course the usual Tarantino style of keeping u guessing. A must watch if u can endure a very very long build up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a solid 4 stars from me

Swiss Army Man (2016) 7.5/10

The below screenshot of the film perfectly sums up my opinion of this movie:

But seriously thought the last movie I watch that was that polarizing was <Tusk>. This is far better than Tusk & really well done. The two leads are just truly brilliant. Movie has a level of depth but it does not get overwhelming; it's well paced as well.

A must watch...some proper laughs as well.

Why not watch the movies they have on the plane?
If I watch a movie on a plane (I usually read), I make a point of picking a movie I wouldn't go out of my way to watch otherwise. Nothing worse than watching that big blockbuster you've been waiting for on on a small low resolution screen.

Oh dear dear me. Why does Hollywoods lack of imagination put us through this sort of torture. This time they didn't even try to make it any good. Christopher Lambert should have a t shirt with "Kiss my monkey" on it as he walks down Hollywood boulevard. The original Greystoke was brilliant. This time around it's CG, CG, CG with a few "performances" thrown in for good measure. Terrible in every sense of the word. A definite DON'T WATCH. ⭐️⭐️2 jungle rotted stars from me

For those for whom Johnny Weissmuller was before their time ... he was an Olympic gold medal swimmer before his acting career.

Are there other actors/actresses who were/are Olympians ?

Geena Davis was one but there must be more.

Yeah, me too generally. I wouldn't watch something that requires proper AV quality to enjoy.

I'm going to assume that you are proud of your individuality and will continue to rate you movies out of 5 instead of out of 10 like the rest of the thread/previous thread? Is this assumption correct?
