Good family fun. Nothing too serious. CG everywhere but done well enough to be really believable. Well adapted from the Dahl novel but Sophie became a little annoying at times. Would recommend this for kids of all ages (myself included lol). Didn't quite have the emotional impact intended but an overall decent watch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ giant sized stars from me.

Sounding more like Barry Ronge by the day

Sausage Party (2016) 6.5/10

Not as convincing as I thought but pretty good if you're into the vulgar type humor.

You honestly don't think mentioning the end of a movie is a spoiler?

It's a vulgar adult-themed animated movie. Hardly anything to "spoil" bud.

Off your horse.

Absolutely agreed. Way over the top and vulgar as hell. Not one to watch with the kiddies or family I'm afraid

Nah, I agree. You spoiled the "shock" at the end because one just don't expect....THAT!

Anyway, too late now

Captain Fantastic 9.0

Power to the people
Stick it to the man.

The additional .5 is for the soundtrack (anyone know where to find it ? )

Mr. Church (2016) 7.5/10

Lovely story about loyalty & friendship. Eddie Murphy shines thru in his best performance in decades.

Entertaining & interesting premise. Falls a bit flat towards the end. I see older teens (thinking Pokémon Go generation) totally loving this flick.

Once - 8.5/10. Slow burning, low budget indie musical about an Irish street busker who meets a Czech pianist. Emotionally augmented by some incredible songwriting (the stars are real musicians with good chemistry) that enables its scenes to linger, and still manages to be funny and understated.

Agreed. Slow yet never boring or tedious. A drama about life that doesn't shirk from sadness but doesn't dwell on it either and ends up leaving you feeling enriched for having watched it. Would recommend it.
