Into The Forest (2015) 6.5/10

Solid, low-key...fair warning, has a bit of a feminist vibe going on.

Yet another boring animation which Hollywood seems to be enjoying making of late. Fell asleep 3/4 way through. Same boring crass humor that's plagued this genre recently. Great for the kids but cmon give us classics like Frozen and Legends of the Guardians (Elsa and Jack Frost rock)
5 feather ruffled stars out of 10 from me.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) - 6.5/10

Went to watch it with the girlfriend who will obviously rate it much higher. Enjoyable though and I'll definitely won't mind watching the future films in the series.

The accountant :
Didn't think I'd enjoy it but it was pretty decent, some slow parts but a strong cast and interesting story. Would recommend checking it out. 7/10

It takes so long for the plot to get going.

Was ok.

The Accountant (2016)
Maybe because I didn't expect much of it but this was a blast to watch. I kept on thinking: This was the Batman movie we were supposed to get this year! Plus, it ended up being Batman vs The Punisher with a few appearances by the new Commissioner Gordon, which was pretty awesome. A solid, enjoyable 8/10.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016)
Mildly entertaining. Probably aimed more at a younger audience. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about either. 6/10

Storks (2016)
A very average 5/10

Excellent watch. Enjoyed every moment of this one. Hanks was as always, brilliant. Great pace and script was rock solid. A must watch. Watched it twice and would watch it again. A must see.
10 jet fueled stars from me.

Only thing worse than this movie was casting Asa Butterfield in it. Just when I though Samuel L Jackson couldn't do any worse after trying his hand as a Jedi he surprised the hell out of me in his worst performance ever. Almost on "Nicholas Cage" level now. A total disappointment by Tim Burton. Shallow acting. Pathetic script. Horrid storyline. Torrid effects.

THE WORST MOVIE OF THE YEAR IF NOT DECADE. DO NOT WATCH THIS !!!

1/10 nauseating time stopping stars from me and the one star was for the fantastic underwater effects which would have been right at home in any of the Harry Potter movies.

Quick side note: all this could have been stopped dead in its tracks if the twins simply lifted their masks at the beginning lol

Before the Flood (2016) 8/10

Supremely well structured with loads of insight. An excellent doccie film about an important topic.

But was it a PR campaign for de Caprio or a real attempt at making a difference. Seen this sort of thing before with James Cameron etc who all have their "pet salvation projects"....yet nothing changes does it. Global warming's not slowing down. The ice caps are still melting at ridiculous rates, indigenous tribes are still being ousted in the name of big industry. Classic case is Rick O Brian's Dolphin Project which has turned into a lucrative business for him. A handful of dolphins being culled went viral while Japanese trawlers killing thousands of dolphins a year go about their merry way.
So yeah....PR Campaigns. Hollywood at its best.
