Quick question, how many people in this thread searches back for previous ratings when deciding on a movie? Or do you find it just too much work?

What if we keep track of people's ratings in the coming new year, and make the data actually useful?

I've started that back in the first thread but it is a mission to catch up especially if you get people rating with stars etc.

And no, the opinion of mybb or anybody's for that matter on a movie doesn't really sway me. I never go back in these threads.

Maybe you were just lazy? :p

If we came up with a standard rating system, and ignore those who want to be stupid, wouldn't that work?
If the information was easily accessed would you then have a look?

I know personally I know who has similar tastes to me, or whose opinion I respect, so I would like to see their ratings if I'm looking for something to watch.

I look at others reviews just as a matter of interest. But I don't use the reviews to choose what to watch. But if u want to keep a database go for it bro. Why not is what I say

Amores Perros - 8.5/10. Finally got to see this after enjoying both Babel and 21 Grams. This is undoubtedly the best of the "trilogy." Amazing how director gets convincing performances from amateur actors.

The Woman - 7/10. Feminist commentary depicted in brutal and gory fashion.

Independence day Resurgence: 6/10 Bigger stuff, pew pew sounds in space, attempted to focus on a new cast. Should've just left it with the first.

Ratchet and Clank: 4/10 Felt like watching a Saturday morning cartoon. The teaser trailer was way better than the film just watch that.

Green Room: 8/10 Patrick Steward plays a skinhead Neo Nazi Boss. Simple yet realistic horror situation.

MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

Predictable. Generic. Far from fresh. Far from original. Been done before. Just A list cast that made it any different. Neither Denzel's or Antoine Fuqua's finest hour. As a director Fuqua has done far far better and I expected much more from him.
This was just another western but lacked any sort of plot development.
Bad guy takes over town. Good guys form a crew. Bad guy gets beaten. Not a single damn twist in it beside a very shallow sub story about Ethan Hawkes conscience about killing. Blegh!
THIS WAS THE WESTERN VERSION OF GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY ...yuck
3/10 horse poo covered stars from me.
