Dual (2022) 6/10

Slow burner sci-fi thriller even though the running time is short. Was not a fan of the deadpan flat characters. Final act picks up.

Gives me The Lobster vibes.

Looking at it now, I do not remember watching Jackie in The Foreigner.

Derivative action thriller. Liam Neeson puts on his typical play. Some good action scenes but there is nothing memorable here. Monica Bellucci does not get enough screen time.

I enjoyed this more than expected - a step up from his previous efforts. 6.5

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) 6 / 10

6 / 10 for the wacky scenes (e.g. butt plug).
But, it is clearly beyond my IQ

Everything Everywhere All At Once 3/10

Meh...a Chinese version of The Matrix gone wrong. What complete crap.

Exactly my thoughts during it. Was thinking ‘Asian Matrix’.

But entertaining nonetheless. 4.5/10. Decent message at the end there.

"In its ninth weekend of release, the martial arts fantasy will become indie outfit A24’s highest grossing domestic release, with over $50 million in the bank... The film was released in 10 theaters in its opening weekend, where it broke the record for the best per-theater average of the year ($50k). Everything Everywhere All At Once subsequently crossed over from specialty cinemas and made it to nationwide chains, all on the strength of positive word-of-mouth, a smart marketing campaign, and some truly spectacular reviews."

Willard (2003) 6.5/10

Good atmospheric thriller. Lots of suspense & intrigue. Offbeat story plays out well. Imo Crispin Glover's best performance I've seen to date.
