Top Gun: Maverick (2022, IMAX) - 9.6/10

Goddamn what a film. It’s just excellent. It’s a 400km/h ride down the highway, straight to the danger zone. If you like the original, you’ll love this.

Im planning for next weekend, every decent seat at an imax was full this weekend, and it looks like this movie needs to be seen on imax

Murder on the Orient Express - 8/10
Death on the Nile - 7/10

Watched the two recent Agatha Christie adaptions. Enjoyed both but I found the Orient express better. Did not know the plot of either before which helped. Second one ended up being far more predictable and I spotted the ending about half way through which spoiled it somewhat. Settings for both where absolutely fabulous and acting was top notch. Just felt like the script for the second one was a bit off and tried to be more action than mystery and it did not work as well. Both got a bit preachy about race so be forewarned.

Silverton Siege (6/10)

It's definitely more of an "inspired by actual events" than "based on true events" a lot of liberties are taking with the facts. Some decent acting for a South African flick, quite enjoyed it.

Most cringe part was Vosloo going from being an MK hunter to being a sympathizer within the 100 movies of the movie.

Emergency (2022) 6/10

Slightly funny buddy comedy with some social commentary at play.

Definitely worth watching on IMAX.

Plot holes a mile wide, but damn - what a movie. Worth watching for the camera work alone.

Cruise can be a twat, but the guy is a proper professional.

Father Stu (2022) 6.5/10

Slightly self-indulgent biographical drama, enjoyed the story if a little too preachy. Mark Wahlberg & Mel Gibson had some solid banter.

Top Gun: Maverick (2022) 8/10

It absolutely lives up to the incredible hype! A sequel that knocks it out the park in every metric & is arguably better than the OG film. An exhilarating adrenaline filled ride, tons of fan service & callbacks to the original. An epic blockbuster, Cruise flies high. Must watch.

Great scenery, Plot is interesting and entertaining. As a lover of Viking history & folklore, I really enjoyed this.

Top Gun Maverick

9.5/10

I did not see this coming! Excellent movie. Much better than the first. Gonna watch it a second time on the big screen, before I eventually grab it in 4k for home!

Top Gun Maverick,

10/10 Brilliant, Brilliant movie, well worth the wait since 1986

loved how they got small details right, like the Fact Iranian F14's dont have Tailhooks,
and the fact that the entire mission mirrors a succesful Israeli operation in real life:

still want to know what the Mach 10+ Airplane in the Beginning was,
veiled reference to the Aurora?

I posted a link a few posts back about it. It's fictitious but it based on an actual Lockheed Martin project. In the movie it's called Darkstar.

yes, but I thought its closer to the Rumored Aurora, or even the Talon fighters from Stealth.
