Really enjoyed Dune. The sound work was incredible, I loved how they conveyed the immense scale of things (especially the ships) and they managed to translate some tricky stuff from a book to a film. Also liked how every group was well portrayed, especially some of the Harkonen stuff. I got this LOTR vibe at the end - like this great adventure has unfolded and there's more to come and it was great to finally see some epic-feeling scifi on screen again in a totally believable universe.

You Won't Be Alone (2022) 8.5/10
Folktale-type movie with some drama, some horror. It's very well-made and quite affecting overall. It's more impressionistic and reflective than Eggers, for example (The Witch or The Northman) - if you're in the mood for that, it's a good time.

Top Gun: Maverick (2022) 8/10
Everything you think it's going to be - a lot of fun, maybe (probably) a little over-reliant on nostalgia. Why do cinemas think their patrons are hearing-impaired? Watched the movie with a beanie on over my ears.

Hustle, currently showing on Netflix. 6.5/10
I don't watch or follow basketball, however I found this to be lightly entertaining and interesting.
Sandler not too bad in a more serious role.

I rate this movie. We watched it over 2 nights. Adam Sandler should chuck his comedies out the window and do more of these. Mind you, I've seen his other serious movies and they are really not bad at all.

Hustle (2022).
8/10.
Adam Sandler killing it. Great movie, great training montage reminiscent of Rocky.

Made me want to watch more basketball stuff, so I got Rise of the Lakers with John C Reilly and Quincy Isaiah and it's just as entertaining to watch.
