Elvis (2022) 7.5/10

Watched it at the Bioscope, 65 buck.

This one took me by surprise. Top notch story telling, great period set visuals, excellent musical sequences. Austin Butler does a phenomenal job, a dead ringer.

My only slight complaint is too many edits/cutscenes in quick succession.

The Grey Man
7.5/10

Man, I enjoyed this. The same plot has been done 1000 times but Chris Evans had me chuckling out loud several times and Ana deArmas is :po_O

The Gray Man 6/10 - If Michael Bay did a Mission Impossible for a Fast and Furious audience it would probably look like this.

The long night: 3/10
Some southern blonde getting mixed up in a cult ritual while hiding it out in a house with her horndog. Originally trying to find her parents...

i tried but it's just that bad. gave up and removed from list.

Alien Sniperess (2022): A tour de performance from Olivia Okoro in what must easily be one of the best scifi movies in the last 10 years.

Peppermint (2018): After The Gray Man felt like more action like this. This time with Jennifer Garner kicking ass. Not bad, popcorn action movie.

Inherent Vice (2014) 7/10

Miller's Crossing (1990) 8/10

Midnight Run (1988) 8/10

Felt like re-watching these after catching some Lebowski at my brother's place - crime dramas with a dose of comedy and inept characters with stuff happening by accident rather than some grand plan. They're a lot of fun.

So who else Googled if this was an actual movie.

I watched the trailer before deciding that review was a light troll.

Back in the early 2000's, we circulated a cd of the movie Hardware at work amongst people telling them it was great.

The gift that kept on giving for awhile.

Yeah. I liked Downey / Kilmer a bit more than Gosling / Crowe but both those Shane Blacks are fun.

Jackie Brown (1997) 8/10

Out Of Sight (1998) 8/10

Couple of Elmore Leonard adaptations that hold up. I remember not liking Get Shorty as much but I'll give that a rewatch sometime.
