The Immaculate Room (2022) 5.5/10

Lacklustre psychological thriller, wasted potential. Setting should serve up suspense which film fails to deliver.

Better than expected prequel that holds up, in some ways better than the OG film. The early plot twist plays out well. Far fetched but redeems itself in a few ways.

Spin Me Round (2022) 5/10

Overly ambitious romcom thriller. Tries too many things at once & fails on almost all fronts. Story setup payoff fails to deliver, really poor storytelling. One of the few saving graces is Zach Woods' performance (I love that oke).

13 Lives (2022) - Amazon Prime - 8/10 - Rescue mission based on the school boys trapped in a cave in Thailand. Probably got an extra point for how remarkable the actual story is.

Prey (2022) - 7.5/10. Very cool flick. Who knew there was still life in the Predator franchise?

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007) 7.5/10

This one went under my radar. Excellent psychological crime thriller. Top notch casting & story telling, lots of rewarding perspectives told. I’m impressed. Sidney Lumet’s final film & what a cracker to end off.

Special mention to Marisa Tomei who is absolutely smoking in the film & on full display.
