Watched a few movies so far...

Elvis (2022): 10x satanic pelvises / 10x satanic pelvises
Scoring this flick as decent and definitely gets a 8/10 from me. Definitely worth it if you are into elvis or at least decent/'that era' music imho.

Close encounters of the third kind (1977): 7/10
Watched this ages a go so a classic rerun was great. I mean you can't go wrong with some alien and/or ufo flick from that era especially being a spielberg.

Cloverfield (2008): fok nee / fok nees
I'm already not a fan of the shaky cam method, look my eyes, head or vision never shakes like it's having sex on a driller. I can do a cam-shot film any day but for ****sakes don't do the fake shakes, zooms and the ups and downs about all the time.

The Host (2006): um-ok/10
Not my flick but was suppose to be The Monster movie reading some Nope Reviews.

One of my favourite monster flicks of all time.

I can see it can be good but ask yourself does your vision shake like that all the time when you walk, look up/down, turn around? Perhaps if you are running but surely not if you look close and then far.

Seen plenty of cellphone vids with much worse shaking. To me Cloverfield's shaky cam looked pretty realistic.

I remember the movie being in the news when it came out because many people got sick watching it lol. But JJ and his pals loved a shaky cam in those days. They used the technique in almost everything.

I'll go shoot something and see how bad it is then compare it to blairwitch and cloverfiend.

They used the technique in almost everything.
or hide their bad kak with it like poor action scenes.

Nope (2022) 7/10

Like all of Peele’s films there are lots of themes & hidden meanings. Great atmosphere & tension. A weird watch that requires extra thought. Takes a fair bit of time to start taking off.

Nope 6/10

Interesting enough concept but very slow and I really really disliked the end.

If you want to a see a great slow burning scifi nothing beats Under The Skin with Scarlett Johanssen.

Maneater 2022

4.20/10: TLDR: Bad music and open gl 1.0 3D graphics, ok actors and story.

The music is probably the worst part of this movie. I'm not even a director or filmmaker but I can tell you there is something off with the score. Think the music guy worked on porn movies or commercials in 1969.

The actors aren't too bad and the story is better than most. The 3D graphics on the other hand was created on a 486DX.

I don't know how I managed to finish this movie. I think the bar for bad movies have been lowered in the last few pandemic years. High-quality movies are thin these days.

Samaritan. Stopped 50 mins in to get snacks, don't know if I'll bother continuing. Movie feels devoid of any feeling whatsoever.
