Maneater 2022

4.20/10: TLDR: Bad music and open gl 1.0 3D graphics, ok actors and story.

The music is probably the worst part of this movie. I'm not even a director or filmmaker but I can tell you there is something off with the score. Think the music guy worked on porn movies or commercials in 1969.

The actors aren't too bad and the story is better than most. The 3D graphics on the other hand was created on a 486DX.

I don't know how I managed to finish this movie. I think the bar for bad movies have been lowered in the last few pandemic years. High-quality movies are thin these days.

No way I'm even wasting my time on this

Glorious (2022) 5 / 10
No man what the hell man. At least the hole scene was worth while

Samaritan (2022) 5.5 / 10
Sylvester Stone still kicking ass at his age. Not too shabby.

Nope (2022) 6.5 / 10
This one is memorable. Mainly due to the location, clouds ect Reminds me a bit of War of the Worlds.

The Must Be The Place (2011) 7 / 10
Can't believe I never watched this before. Excellent performance from Sean Penn.
And then we have music by David Byrne.

If Nope is better than Samaritan then I must see it.

I've seen all the best movies. Looking for unseen gems. Even older movies from before my time.
Lol at thinking that shark movie would be a potential gem. Maybe try some Criterion stuff instead - work through the collection. How old you want to go? Seen The Third Man? Else pick a year and do a google like '1985 best movies' etc. and work your way to the present picking 5 movies from each year or something.

No I didn't go into it thinking it would be, hoping it might be. But I knew what to expect and is why I steered clear of Shark Side Of The Moon

Me Time (2022) 5.5/10

OTT buddy comedy. Some laughs but mostly generic & quite cringy. Lots of wokeness on play.

7.9/10: Other people had issues with the end but don't understand. The entire concept has been a thought I've had for almost a year and it's amazing to see it being explored in the movies.

Great acting, great graphics, great story.

Top Gun Maverick: 8/10. The story had lots of problems and I wish they had focused more on the younger characters but eh... It was a lot of fun and the dogfights were really cool

5.9/10: I didn't enjoy Get Out as much as Nope. Racist cliches and no aliens.

Wel, nope was a pot kak. Why? Social commentary doesn't really belong "in a normal" cinema setup. And the greater reason was everyone being jags about getting the alien shot when they could have ended the movie in the first odd 30 or 40 mins after escaping it. Actually, you have 2 literal same plots, well 3, running at the same time where all three is about getting the perfect shot which totally ****ed the movie for me. Of course I can understand the "deeper" meaning but imho there was none. Finally why did the director not just keep with the original shape of the ufo? That baloon shifting kak in the contributed nothing but more alienating what he already had and we've not yet even begin to cover if it hangs there in the cloud for years and years, why nothing happened before that moment on that horse with that guy? lol?

In all honesty Close Encounters of The Third Kind was better; Get out was better and so on.

Anyways: een man se pot-kak is 'n ander man se AAA.
