Movie Mini-Review Thread - Part III

Yeah probably the dumbest movie poster I've ever seen.
Also the laziness of just using some AI generated nonsense. The burning note has typical AI garbled text.

Strange Darling - 7.5/10. Non linear Pulp Fictionesqe shocker with a 70's palette courtesy of Giovanni Ribisi's incredible photography and a tour de force performance from Willa Fitzgerald.

Azrael - 6.5/10. Interesting film that contains practically no dialogue. Does become a bit far fetched.

Speak No Evil - 6/10. Watered down remake.

Deadpool 3 - 6.5/10. Apart from some of the occasionally clever and funny one liners (lol at Smashturbate) - this just feels like a pointless cash grab with a nonsensical plot.

The Killers Game (2024) 6 / 10. Good old skop, skiet en donder fun.

Speak No Evil (2024). 6 / 10. Decent thriller. I'd rather take this ending over that messed up Danish one.

The Radleys (2024) 5 / 10. I battled to sit through this.

Hold Your Breath (2024) 5 / 10. Sarah Paulson's performance is the only thing going for this otherwise tedious horror.

Salem's Lot (2024) 4.5 / 10. There have been far better vampire movies since Stephen King created this.

The Curse of the Necklace (2024) 4 / 10. Terrible horror.

Yeah, the same rating from me, the book was written in 1975, lots of better Vampire stories out there.
The book is a classic and brilliant, old school SK. The movie totally sucks.

I don't understand why someone with SK's money, cannot consistently produce a good movie/TV series? Like 11.22.63

TV production is very different to writing, though and they're made by different people. And I don't think he's even involved in most of it. His exec. producer credit is basically just because his books are the source material. Having money isn't a guarantee of anything, either, of course.

He also has a lot of crap books, so the quality of his work fluctuates just like TV/movie productions of his books.
