Top notch psychological thriller. Great unfolding & suspense, absorbing watch.


Red Dragon (2002) 7/10

Stays true to Manhunter, arguably a better cast. Newer film is more raw. Imo Anthony Hopkins does a better job than Brian Cox.

It was really engaging for me, when the soccer scene about, I was reminded I wasn't watching a wholesome family comedy where they learn to connect through their mutual love of sport.

Reminiscence (2021) - 6/10. The bastard son of Blade Runner, Minority Report, Inception and other better sci-fi, nevertheless a decent effort from Lisa Joy (Westworld).

The Djinn (2021) - 7.5/10. Effective old school horror. Cool retro soundtrack plus amazing performance from young lead.

By the numbers revenge thriller with some misdirection thrown in to spice it up. Not the biggest Jason Momoa fan & his performance here did not change my view.

A good effort neo-noir sci-fi, takes some ideas from a few films but moulds it pretty well. Very much a "journey" film. Solid 1st (film directing) effort from Lisa Joy.
