This new movie actually highlights how good the 1984 version was despite it's limitations.
I think if they’d combine the best of 1984 Dune with the best of 2021 Dune you’d have a masterpiece

The 2000 mini series is closer to the book but the cheap sets and affects never really give me the sense of scale and awe that the 1984 film did...The 2000 mini-series gets a better rating .... ?
That's the theatrical version. There's an extended version with an intro using images providing some backstory and setup. Works very well. The 2000 mini-series gets a better rating .... ?
It's pretty good actually. At least that's how I remember it.The 2000 mini-series gets a better rating .... ?
I believe the version from The Asylum has more action less talk.Well Dune was disappointing.... 5/10
I never read the books, but I played the game.
So I was expecting an action packed movie, instead I got a freaking slow paced movie with too much chitty chatty.
I enjoyed Old (2021) more....
Why did you expect that? Because of the game?Well Dune was disappointing.... 5/10

Dune (2021) 8.5/10
Fantastic bit of cinema, I really enjoyed it, and it was a worthwhile trip to the cinema. Amazing visuals, great cast and beautifully shot. Rebecca Ferguson and Timothée Chalamet were excellent. Was just a little on the long side for my tastes.
1917 - 8.5/10. Not sure why I slept on seeing this but it’s superb.
