The 2000 mini series is closer to the book but the cheap sets and affects never really give me the sense of scale and awe that the 1984 film did...

And the costumes for the mini series were awful.

Also thought the casting of the 1984 film was really good (except Sting)

Patrick Stewart
Fransescs Annis
Brad Douriff
Jurgen Prochnow
Everett Mcgill
Max von Sydow
Kyle Mclaughlan

And the score by Toto for the 1984 film is top notch.

Well Dune was disappointing.... 5/10

I never read the books, but I played the game.
So I was expecting an action packed movie, instead I got a freaking slow paced movie with too much chitty chatty.

I enjoyed Old (2021) more....

I believe the version from The Asylum has more action less talk.
Check it out. You'll love it.

Why did you expect that? Because of the game?

Dune (2021) 8.5/10

Fantastic bit of cinema, I really enjoyed it, and it was a worthwhile trip to the cinema. Amazing visuals, great cast and beautifully shot. Rebecca Ferguson and Timothée Chalamet were excellent. Was just a little on the long side for my tastes.

Yes, I played the game years ago, so I was expecting it be "action packed" entertainment.

Don't get me wrong, the cinematography, visual effects, actors were great, but I was expecting a little more action.

Maybe Part 2 will be more action packed....

Language Lessons (2021) 7. 5 /10

Great little movie. Natalie Morales is super cute in this.
She also directed it and co-wrote it with Mark Duplass.
This is low budget to the extreme.

Marvel, the Legend of the 10 rings - 5/10
I think I may well be MCU'd out. Some well choreographed fight scenes and visuals but lacks in substance. They have this annoying thing where it seems they needed to include a goofy character to lighten the movie. Just ends up with an annoying unfunny character.

I was also annoyed as I went to watch Dune but the damned Ster Kinekor had a different schedule at the complex than what their website showed. So I rushed there only to find the movie started an hour earlier, lol.
