Dune - 7.5/10
Amazing visuals on IMAX. I think the only point against it is the choreography. Not impressed by the elite emperor troops crab walks and fights in general.

It went on for awhile according to Google...you kind of went into Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder mode. Show us on cerebus where Mel Gibson touched you ;p

Haha that's awesome. I see it wasn't just me with a negative opinion though, tons of people didn't enjoy it.

Linky.

It's still a piece of sht though.

Hacksaw Ridge is a piece of **** made by an even bigger piece of ****

Fact Check: True.

Just awful.

We live in a world where war movies like Saving Private Ryan, and 1917, and Dunkirk, and Black Hawk Down, and Full Metal Jacket exist, and I hate it that I even have to group Hacksaw Ridge with those movies.

Dunkirk is kak unfortunately and 1917 wasn't that great either.

Full Metal Jacket was a supreme masterpiece as was Saving Private Ryan.

TV series depicting these wars have far outshone all these movies however.

PS. Mel Gibson has made some great movies, personal feelings towards him not-withstanding.

To be clear: Band of Brothers > everything else.

Not really a fan of Passion or Apocalypto, but I guess I don't hate Braveheart.

As an actor, his guess-I-don't-hate list would also include The Road Warrior, Payback, The Patriot and maybe We Were Soldiers... Enjoyed Boss Level, but that was 'cos Frank Grillo.

I'd watch Ridge before, 1917 and Dunkirk both of which were humourless bores.

Different strokes, different folks.

Genuinely love the converging timelines and deliberate lack of dialogue in Dunkirk, as well as the long-take format of 1917.

Titles roll at the end of Heartbreak Ridge, so I'll give it a point for those.

Personally, I’m just glad we can all agree that Hacksaw Ridge was a great war movie and worthy of the praise it garnered.

Good job team.

The problem with Dunkirk is that I watched it in the theatre, and I felt like the cinema spent two hours screaming at me. I've stopped caring about Nolan movies. The sound mixing is simply not worth the hassle.
