So I am going to move my homeloan to save a couple of bucks. How does one go about doing this? This is what I know.
I need to give my current bank 3 months notice in order to prevent them from charging me for 3 months additional interest. I need to reapply for my home loan with the second bank. Once approve there will be fees to be paid. As far as I know that will only be the initiation fee and the Bond Registration fees. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I believe that the Bond Registration fees were around R17k.
Thanks guys. These bank matters are so confusing.

- Would I also be liable for the transfer fees? I wouldn't think so.
- What happens once I notify the bank about my intention of moving my bond? Would I then be liable to pay the entire bond remainder at the end of that 3 month window?
- At which point would I start applying for my bond with the new bank?
