Moving property need to move BF 500/200 line with me

f the customer can confirm which ISP or Vuma representative indicated that this is allowed, we can take this matter further. Otherwise, there is little we can do, as it is covered by our terms and conditions.
@PBCool but we do not sign an agreement with Vumatel, we signed an agreement with you why must we do the leg work for you?

Hi xxxx and xxxxx

I discussed the mentioned customer complaint with xxxxxx this morning.

According to our business rules for the Black Friday 2022 promo, this is not allowed and is also not possible from a system perspective.

Any change in the premise on our end requires a termination and a new order. Furthermore, this product is no longer available in our system as it was discontinued after the promotion.

If the customer can confirm which ISP or Vuma representative indicated that this is allowed, we can take this matter further. Otherwise, there is little we can do, as it is covered by our terms and conditions.

Kind regards,
why are you hidding the names ? Either way the contract was done between Cool Ideas and your customers so from a legal point of view your agreement with Vumatel makes no difference. Please post the portion of the terms and conditions signed between Cool Ideas and your customers confirming that they are bound by your agreement with Vumatel?

Names are hidden because of POPIA unless you implying that he is hiding it because the communication is fake?

As for the T&C's, one would consider this a force majure. The cancelling of the line is a VUMAtel requirement which is out of their control.

On their portal, if you click relocations, it is also stated that a cancellation must take place.

Just cancel..pay the higher subscription till November and then get another BF special..it's only 6 months:)
That is the plan with Cool Ideas not keeping to their contractual terms. Any suggestions of which other ISP’s to use?

Can anyone recommend any of the ISP's to use instead of Cool Ideas?
Just curious, you do know that no matter what ISP you'd pick, they'd have the exact same process of cancel and reapply for relocation?
If that's your sole reason for moving, it's going to be the same no matter who you pick.

I always love how people complain companies don't reply, but when they reply on a forum with quite transparent and straight to the point answers, that is also not good enough and you'd rather change suppliers.

Been with Cool Ideas for quite some time now and happy as a pig in palestine, good luck finding another ISP with such a direct and transparent way of communicating if you have any issues.

Maybe try Rain if you are looking for something completely different than what you have now

but moving properties why do ISPs give you that option if its a cancel and reapply process?

i remember seeing it somewhere though ..cant recall where

When you move, and this is all ISPs and FNO's, require a calendar month notice. Relocating requires the cancelation of the current service and activation of a new service at the new location.

Afrihost does not charge you double when you submit the relocate before the 25th of the month and request activation in the new month. You only get charged for the new line when it is activated and not for the last month of your old line.

I agree with Cool Ideas' logic that the deal you got is not transferable to the new premises as it is a new service at a new address. If I understand correctly, the term are that the promo is valid unless you upgrade/downgrade or cancel. You are canceling the current service so the deal goed out the window.

Be glad that CI have honoured the special.
Multiple ISPs screwed clients after <1 year with a bait and switch.

I'm on the same package and I was always aware that downgrading and moving cancelled the plan.

You're being completely unrealistic here as CI is beholded to Vumatel who simply won't facilitate this.

Is it only me, or is it clear that the OP is also these other two people complaining - multiple personalities going on here.
LOL Nope, not happening, its not me.

I even forgot about this post after i read the 1st response from the Cool Ideas rep saying its not possible to move the line, i had already started investigating other Fibre ISP's for when i move.

But thanks to @Jahannes and the rest that carried on, it is quite annoying that i cant move the line over, and it has unfortunately forced me to consider a different ISP, even though i've been with CISP since around 2015 when fibre rolled out in my area.

Would of been the exact same response from every other ISP
Don't know why people can't comprehend that, have fun with your downtime when switching to a different ISP

To be honest, I am rather frustrated as well.
I was hoping that CI would be reasonable in this matter and honor their original agreements for you.

Legally, their contract is between us and them, and while they may be subject to Vumatel's agreement, we as the end customer should not be held to it.

What is also clear from this thread is that they are not interested in keeping their existing customers since their only response was to tell you to cancel your line and sign up for a new contract at a new price with no regard for what they have actually agreed to with us as customers.

I for one am looking into other ISPs.

Every other ISP would do the same thing, go enjoy getting worse support from them
