Moving property need to move BF 500/200 line with me

To be honest, I am rather frustrated as well.
I was hoping that CI would be reasonable in this matter and honor their original agreements for you.

Legally, their contract is between us and them, and while they may be subject to Vumatel's agreement, we as the end customer should not be held to it.

What is also clear from this thread is that they are not interested in keeping their existing customers since their only response was to tell you to cancel your line and sign up for a new contract at a new price with no regard for what they have actually agreed to with us as customers.

I for one am looking into other ISPs.
Look at it from CI's perspective, since Vuma is forcing them to do the cancelation and the special not being available anymore, you are effectively expecting CI to pay the difference on your behalf to Vumatel. Imagine having 1000/1000 and them monthly paying R500+ on your behalf, thereby losing money.

That goes over peoples heads

I mean, just to throw a spanner in the works. They could do that if they really wanted to. They do sponsor a couple of schools with free Internet and various other projects. That's still their decision to make, though. Depends on how many people are on the BF deal.

However, you also can't expect Vuma and CI to keep it going for the next 200 years either.

Honestly, what happened here is perfectly reasonable. You enjoyed the deal for 2 years, you have to unfortunately move, so the deal ends there. Vuma/CI isn't making you move, and the terms of the original service are no longer the same anyway. You have a new address for one, so your part of the contract also changed.

I asked a question, got a response to my question, already said i've accepted the response, already stated that i might try find another ISP package suitable (Not entirely because of this problem, more so because for the entire duration that i had the BF special i very rarely actually saw the 500/200 speeds, after a few troubleshooting and tickets raised, i eventually just gave up and accepted the "Best Effort") or just stick with CISP on a different package - Who knows?

Hoping this thread can now just be closed, because i think its done now.

The dead horse has been flogged enough i think...

Would of been the exact same response from every other ISP
Don't know why people can't comprehend that, have fun with your downtime when switching to a different ISP
There wont be downtime, he is moving. He is specifically not cancelling CI and going to a new ISP, he is moving property and therefore as per this thread WILL HAVE TO place a new order and is choosing to place that order with someone else.

He said he is looking for a new ISP, so therefor there will be downtime, so you saying if the order is placed at 9:00am, it will be up and running at 9am?
Why you reviving a thread that died and the OP asked for it to be closed?

There will be downtime either way. If the line at the new premises is not released yet by the previous tenants ISP, there will be a long wait to get the line released. If it is available, the activation order can take up to 96 hours depending on the FNO.

I think ISPs should stand up more against the FNO abuse, like in this case.

The ISP and Customer should lay a joint compliant.

FNO's get away with this ****, because the ISPs are preferring to have it sully their own reputation, rather than confronting the FNO.

It's not that simple unfortunately, the BF deal is provided to all the ISPs under the Open Access agreement.

So, accepting their offer and then trying to argue about it after the fact?

Special deals from the FNO does not make up for poor policies resulting in unhappy customers that can't complain to the FNO directly.
