That USA lottery is quite cool, do you have a legit website for that?

Back on topic: Any particular reason you want to go solely to the UK? It really is one of the most difficult countries to get into now with the immigration laws unless you posses something they really really want.

Just remembered, these guys sent me an email a few days ago http://www.ydp.co.za/
I was looking at courses through them a while back but they had nothing for me.

Here's the link. Rule of thumb: If anyone asks you to pay, it's not the official page.

I just want to do something with my life and I always hear good things about the UK, like fast internet, diverse racial demographics, strong economy.

Did the 120hour in-class TEFL course with www.xploreasia.org and they hook you up with a job too.

Job is awesome. So far i have no time limit, for me i have nothing really to go back to in SA except family and friends.

I moved to get out the whole JHB rat race routine thing.
The other day i was doing a compare and contrast between JHB and Thailand. just the very basics.

Work
JHB: 40 hours per week
30 minutes commute each way
Sit behind a desk in a corporate enviroment getting stressed out and told to fix an emergency every single second.

Thailand: 11 Hours a week (4 days a week, friday is military day :D)
10 minute scooter commute each way
Get to run and jump around with 15 year olds and try teach them english.

General Living:
JHB: R3500 rent (3 bedroom townhouse sharing)
R2000 food
R2000 petrol
R600 for uncapped DSL of kakness.

Thai: R1500 rent (1 bedroom apartment, but in a radical apartment block where only me and my mate are monthly rentals and lekker restaurant downstairs n bar owned by americans)
R700 food - MAX -- Some of the best food i have ever eaten except they dont do proper steaks :( only aussie sh#t
R200 Petrol
R200 Laundry
30mb uncapped interwebs - Free

People : insanely friendly, thai girls are amazingly beautiful, met people from all over the world too. My experience is i cannot fault this place if you take it for what it is. IF you nit pick then yes you will find sh#t things.. but thailand isn't for everyone, some people just cannot live in a laid back lazy town or a huge bustling city of bangkok

Rather indelicate question to ask but how much were/are you earning?

Whaaat? Is this legit?

I heard that if you don't have a degree you are working illegally because you can't get a work permit.

Please don't give me false hope hehehe

Unless you have precisely zero life there, and very cheap accommodation, you'll come home with zip.

Also, on what basis do you expect to be allowed to work there?

Looking at the figures in his post, I thought the same; in fact, from what I have read about rental prices, he will not get far with that kind of income if he still has to budget for food and transport too.

Well I've just moved to Germany, and let me just say if it wasn't for the awesome money and the easier lifestyle I have here, i'd be back in SA, If SA had this economy, we'd be a number 1 nation, it's sad actually.

So if (according to you) Germany has awesome money and an easy lifestyle, then what makes you miss SA? The weather? The people? The unions? :D

You don't think you already have that in SA? :)

Anyway, from what i see/hear/read, race groups in the UK seem to have big problems integrating successfully and they pretty much live in little clusters.

Currently im in ubon ratchathani, its in isaan the northeast of thailand, they say its "true" thailand because its the poorest province and its basically just agriculture, farmers etc.
My mates from the course we did got placed down south in surat thani, trang, had yai.
You have to be prepared to be placed in the stix with nothing around you. if you think you could deal with that then lekker. (this would be considered a shoddy area).

The only bad places are south east, muslim rebels attack small towns n sh#t but all of the agents dont place teachers there for that reason so you dont have to worry.

I thought Isaan was a bad area, but it doesn't sound bad at all!

Do you need to renew your visa every 90 days?
