So how do you go about life in Thailand without knowing how to speak Thai? Do you need to go for your drivers license again and stuff like that?
I learnt a small bit during the course. But you can get around it... sign language and such, also just learn phrases you think are important like numbers, food, greeting, giving a taxi directions. You pick it up. Um to be legal then yes. We met thais who befriended us so they helped buy a scooter and register it at the traffic department. I cant hold a conversation in thai yet but I know phrases that get me what I want.

goes for any country you want to emigrate to. I don't see the point of emigrating from SA if you want to live with South Africans. In not saying avoid them, but I meet South Africans who say to me:"let's go to there, it's a South African place"..... Too much
