Any police investigator worth their salt can read the scene and see if it's staged or not, doesn't need to take years and years and years and years and years and years to figure this out. These are barriers put in place by ANC to make things as difficult as possible. Could easily change the laws to "trespassers will be shot" and keep things simple.

He/She should have asked them to leave then wait for the police to come and remove them. Only the police (a special division that doesn't exist) can remove the trespassers. This is the dumb law being enacted.

Reason I was suspicious is that original article indicated the robbers/baddies had gained access to the house and that the shooting took place in the kitchen.

Because in most cases, even if clearly a legal shooting, they take the firearm leaving you defenseless till their investigation is over which could take years. It is also regarded as a evidence piece.

But if you allow every police officer "worth his salt" to make such deductions then you end up with a mess. How do you even determine every police officer is capable of reading a crime scene like that? Where in the world do all police officers have that ability? Rather, do things procedurally for the sake of the gun owner. If all is above board, then they won't get into trouble.

At least the 2 won't hurt another person. Hope the homeowner gets his guns back soon.
