I mean it surely cant be that easy?

And his motivation is to speed up the uptake of Starlink subscriptions, worldwide!

Are these those new push button versions of the rotary telephone system? DTMF tones will never catch on. Too many systems use Pulse tone.

Azure says the issue is due to international cable breaks, yet they're routing all CDN and FrontDoor requests via Europe pops even if the client and origin are in ZA basically just switched off ZA pops even for local routing.

Thats shifts the cost of the international connection from their own network, to your ISPs network.

That way they don't need to pay for more capacity on other undersea cables. And spend a lot of time reconfiguring their local networks.
