was working fine on Telkom ADSL... left to come on Holiday... but will not load under 3G... only way I can get into MSN is to use http://www.ebuddy.com/

I checked my Firewall settings... MSN Messenger is listed there as an exception.... I uninstalled and re-installed... but still won't let me log on.

Yikes! i just realised Internet Explorer is not working either... I normally use FireFox which works fine... I disabled the SAIX cache... but Internet Explorer will not connect either... it gives me a Forbidden, You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list.

Is that my HOSTS file... which I have modified?

Nope, it is not the HOSTS file... it must have something to do with Vodacom 3G... cos it was working fine with ADSL.

Windoze ACL [Access Control List], it sounds like you are logged onto your notebook using a corporate user account, and MSN etc are administratively denied by the organistaion that you work for. ACL data will be cached.

thanks for the reply. i don't think that is the case. This is my own personal laptop... and I only have one administrator account set up which is the one I am using.

I really suspect it has something to do with what the 3G will allow over their network... since i was using all of the programs just fine last week... same setup... but over ADSL... now that I am on holiday... and want to use the 3G... i am unable to.
