A damning forensic report has laid bare the rot within the management of Msunduzi Municipality.

The report, dated July 29, 2022, reveals how a fraudulent letter was submitted during the bidding for a tender worth over R14 million for the maintenance, management and repairs to the city’s rental housing stock.

At least the meter sits outside.
By us the water meters is inside the yard. They are not allow to get over the fence. Lots of people does not pay, account climbing monthly. They leave it till when they die, next owner must pay before moving in. This is now for houses. Every end of the month, someone is driving with a car, asking people in Sotho to go and pay. No englies or afri kaans.

This is probably the most work that municipality has done in near 30 years. Taking a break from sucking up to MKVA no doubt. I wonder when they're planning on evicting those from those illegal flats they're occupying illegally and illegally renting out.

One government department owing R13 million speaks for itself.

Then the police station... would be interesting to know how much the government owes nationally.

The question is what they planning to do with the money they collected.

Surely all of these departments have budgets for utilities. What do they do with all that money when they don't pay it over for what it was budgeted? I would love to see the details.

They won't collect any money..

Its a PR drive at best, and they'll have discussions in the background and those places will all be reconnected quietly by the end of the week. The ANC just needs to look like its doing something since the DA are doing good work next door.

But reading all those tweets... HA were disconnected and the switch gear room was locked, they then returned and found that HA had been connected illegally. Why is the HA office manager not being arrested for tampering with municipal infrastructure?
