Would anybody be able to help me or steer me in the right direction.
My kids have a cell phone (like all ) on a MyChoice 75 TOPUP. my Daughters contract has a 10Mb data bundle added.

Her phone was stolen from her (at Gun Point) on Wednesday (2007/04/04).

She had airtime transfered to her account Wendesday morning & had a balance of about R60.00 before the incident.

Thursday morning I got a SIM replacement at MTN Northgate Service Center (MTN's Best Service Center).

After doing a *141# balanace enquiry it showed;
R20.xx Airtime,
42.64Mb of Data
R60.00 Video Airtime.

Question: How can a MyChoice 75 TOPUP have VIDEO airtime allocated? How can she get more data than the bundle. I honestly think that the "THIEF" would not managed to make these changes. I phoned 808, they none the wizer.
Any idea's?

well find out from your SP who the calls were made to and what time they were done, this will help you find out if it was the thieves and will help you catch the crooks

Thanks! She is doing well.

The sadist part is that I asked my wife to fax the insurance forms to MTN that morning.
She ad just sent them and then the incident happened.
I then found out now that I registered the wrong cell number againist the handset serial number. Now they not paying the claim. The handset was upgraded the prevoius Saturday.
Bummers

NB! just remember that if you have insure your handsets thru MTN Insurance, make the the handset is registered with the SIM number you using. If the pickup that another SIM is used in the phone at the time of LOST ... Your LOST, that insurance was all for NOTHING!

To me that is petty, I insure the handset, NOT the association between handset and SIM. It is like insuring your car with Goodyears, if you put Dunlops on the car is not insured. HA HA HA

That's why you shouldn't insure with a CELLULAR company. Insure with an INSURANCE company. All my cellphones are insured with Outsurance and i don't need to provide a "sim number" or "phone number" that is "supposedly" tied to the hardware.

It probably costs the same or less. If you have house insurance or car insurance just add it onto that.

Besides what did you plan to do if
a) You ported to another service provider
b) Your contract expires
