So as it stands MTN - 0 Voda - 1

Ironic thing is they started this little price war and are now going to loose plenty data clients because of it.

How often do people at MTN respond to emails sent to them? As a customer I rarely get a timely response, if I even get one, when I do get a reply I have a problem remembering when I sent it...lol

I have just checked my balances and have not been allocated the extra 1Gb of data for this month, i think this is an absolute discgrace and unless MTN rectify their pricing structures as a matter of urgency to bring it inline then they can kis my *ss goodbye.

Suggestion: Check the balance with the USSD function *141# instead of the IVR. The IVR may be reporting incorrectly.

Also remember that hybrid subscribers (in case you are one) get provisioned pro-rata till their bill date. This will be a matter between you and your service provider.

Are you saying this offer is still valid?

tell me something David- did you recieve the offer of 1 gig+1gig free for 3 months?

yes I did, i am on a my call 75 and loaded a 1GB bundle before the offer and haev untill now been benefiting from the offer from MTN, but i was led to beleive that this would remain in force untill MTN made an announcement regarding there bundles and pricing going forward, had i known that they would actually stop this promo then i probably would have taken out a contract.

I can see how you would be mistaken in this regard, lemme put the record straight- we didnt extend the product to give our client the extra gig for an extra month, we extended the opportunity for those who had not loaded the bundle to make use of the promo.

so where does this leave me - back to paying 40c / MB? when will MTN make an announcement in this regard and is it too late to take out a contract?

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say that I am now officially a VC customer. As matter of fact, I am posting this message vrom my VC connection.

Hope this makes the MTN management happy.

Make that two. MTN's response to this was not satisfactory at all. I've been on VC since middle May, and i see no reason to go back, even if MTN matched Vodacom now, i wouldn't bother.

MTN dropped the ball and didn't follow through, a mere month of indecision was enough to make me look at alternatives...unfortunately the alternatives were better. So only way i'll look at MTN in the near future is if they -beat- Vodacom again [not match]....or of course if Vodacom's connection starts to suck..so far it's basically improved.

I am also getting tired of this, I think that this is the beginning and I hope all these lost customers are worth it for MTN.
