Now I ask you with tears in my eyes....... how does Vodacom respond so quickly to MTN prices ?? I thought you said it needs to be approved by ICSA and it takes 3 months.?

Probably a bit easier if you can apply via Telkom , aren't these guys almost like family? :D

Pretty much - They also have Vodaphone as their flagship which makes things a lot easier I guess

hehehe!!!

If I am correct it was the first time that MTN had a better offering before VC did regarding the 3G promo that started on 18 Feb.

Now in 3 weeks time MTN lost the fight AGAIN to VC!!!! hehehe! :D

So now VC is a R110.00 per month better priced (not cheaper), because there is no cheaper and useless service than MTN's 3G!!! Ask me! I had excellent 3G speeds and then all is gone!!! MTN even came to my house to see if I'm not crazy or using faulty equipment!!! Guess what!!! They had the same trouble in my area on there laptop as on mine!!!

So now I'm paying money for GPRS and so-so Edge coverage every month!!!

I don't even mind anymore, beacuse MTN lost me as a customer forever!

My contract expires the end of Nov 2007. I'm leaving then to go back to VC and stay there forever and I will not even step in to an MTN store again in my life!!!!

MTN overcharged me, they don't mail/email me my statements, no 3G coverage anymore and in a few months - NO MORE MTN IN MY LIFE!

I despise the company! I hate myself for ever signing up with them!!!

VC was first with free voicemail calls (remember in the old days you paid for voicemail...?) first with 3G... and I can't even remember the rest of the pioneering moves VC pulled on all the other cellular SP's!!!

So MTN... see if you can better this one!!! I doubt you can... O yes, I suppose Icasa isn't on your side either? 3 months??? ag pleeaaazzzeeee!

We'll see what you can do!!! All your little yello' fliers in the newspapers are now OLD NEWS!!!! hehehe!:D

VC also is not childish to clamp down on voip and mxit like MTN plans to or claim that they are going to/can/will do! Their poor little sad A$$ network gets jammed...

That's an easy answer Pitbull? It's quite scary to get such a responce from an MTN rep... Nice way to treat your customers! You should see into what beast MTN can change if you don't pay them! Just remember that you (an employee of some kind I believe) are talking to a customer here and not one of your high school friends! I as an unsatisfied customer have a right to air my view and you as an MTN employee have no right to be sarcastic with me! Rather come up with a solution, but in fact you only confrimed my views that there is nothing that MTN can do than take my money and be sarcastic! Plus, for what it's worth, I never attacked you in my posts!

Just go check on how I pay! Never ever missed a payment... it's a pity I can't say the same about MTN's service!

You realise that I can blow this whole thing out of proportion... That remark of your's will do MTN no good...

3. Is this the normal way that MTN handles it's unhappy, well paying customers!

Since it seems that you can say what you want to whom you want, why don't you help me to get out of my contract? I suppose you have the contacts/authority to do it... Show me what you can do!

Then no one will wait on no one!!! Then you're free of me!!! Think about it...

One last thing... Is your signature a threat or a warning? I'm not sarcastic or trying to be funny. I've been wanting to ask you since forever...

I sit with the dilemma, Vodacom or MTN. I took the 2GB promo on prepaid this month, which works great. Up to now i've had the same crap with Vodacom AND MTN when it comes to billing/service. Issue is now i'm waiting to see if everyone is moving [or staying] to Vodacom [then i will go to MTN] or vice versa ;) [because it will mean better internet]. If all these ADSL users suddenly jump on the 3G bandwagon i see lots of pain in the speed/congestion/data service department.

On a side note, MTN isn't emailing mine either. I've tried all kinds of settings on MTNActive [which indicates that it CAN be emailed] , but haven't received any mail from MTN ever... Fortunately i can view it all on the site, but just something that's been bugging me.

Just try to call 808 and get some info... IF you ever get through you will see what I mean!

You get same thing on Vodacom, i've bought a special headset JUST so i can continue with the rest of my life while waiting for the helpdesk to pick up... I've found MTN and Vodacom no different in this area of 'service' .


Did VC drop rates on ppaid Data as well???

If you mean that R2 p/MB rate, then no, there's no change there. Vodacom also STILL do not have prepaid bundles .

All I've had from VC was bad experiences..

To this day in my area the Vodacom signal is weak, voice clarity is terrible and often fades away to nothing, the only data service they offer me is GPRS ... sometimes I used to pick up EDGE.. can't say for sure anymore as I've not used them for data in more than half a year..

They are aware of the problem.. they actually sent a guy out to come do signal tests.. he stood right here.. he did his tests and he agreed with me that the signal was unacceptable... yet to date they've done nothing about it.. (not that I care anymore :p )

MTN always offered me solid GPRS.. I contacted their coverage department last year to query about EDGE .. within two weeks I had EDGE they also promised me I would have 3G/HSDPA before April this year.. they were true to their words, they installed 3G/HSDPA just about 4 weeks ago.. (with company's these days: :eek: :eek: is appropriate)


So all I'm saying is though you may have terrible experience with them and good experience with VC for some (like me) it's quite the opposite.. :p

EDIT: Oh yes.. one other thing MTN considers their prepaid customers.. unlike VC - seriously I don't think VC gives a rat about them, how can it possibly take 2+ years to develop such a simple system (i.e., prepaid data bundles)... :confused: ... I could probably code it in a couple of hours :p

well well.....
I thought it would take least 6months before we get a rely from VC or sum1 else. I must say that was quick. I geus we would have to wait another year for MTN to respond. Then again changing the dates every months untill they have sucked up all our money.....

@redarrow, I get your point and yes some will complain about VC and other like me will complain about MTN.

But what breaks my heart is that I had theeee most wonderful HSDPA here!!! It was faster than lightening!

I was over the moon! And then it started to get slower and slower till there was no more 3G...

What could have possibly gone wrong? Ever since late last year nobody knows or care to tell me what they did that destroyd my 3G/HSDPA signal.

To be quite honest VC is the answer to my problem since I recieve a 4/5 HSDPA signal where I live.

I swop the sims quite alot when MTN lets me down here where I live...

So then I must pay VC for data and MTN for nothing!

I don't care what they do! They can build a tower in front of my gate and give me 1223487687MBs per nano second for free... I WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER AGAIN!!!

I think MTN knows that I am through with them and they couldn't care less... Did you see Pitbull's unasked for and sarcastic remark? Do you think I will let some employee talk to me that way in a public forum? Never!

I will in the unlikely event rather suffer with VC than prosper with MTN.

As I said, I despise the company and all that it stands for. Just a pity that I'm wasting my money on them...

I realise VC is not everyone's answer but is sure is mine!

@Pitbull - I still await your reply... Maybe you don't work on Sundays? But why the instant reply on my first post?
