Well what seems to work with them, is to ask what offer they have, if they call you and then tell them sorry not good enough, I need more data then what you currently offer and at a better price point, got a 150/150 for R150.00 offer, said cool deal, but not looking to upgrade right now, as my other contract will be due for renewal in April and I am willing to hold out till then. They weren't exactly thrilled with that idea, as they have been nagging me to upgrade sending quite a few emails and calling me once every few months. Was hoping they offer 240gig anytime data again for R349.0 I got 2-3 months back, I probably could have if a pushed a little more.It is only 40 or so more days to 2021BF and I have not heard anything on BF2021 in general (from general retail). Wish I could keep it that way.
For those on the worse BF cycle (the one that followed the R150/50GB/200min cycle) have you been contacted over any upgrade deals? Not an upgrade, I am looking to port my Telkom number and trying to get a feel of whats on offer.
So yeah if you do speak to some one, be polite and the agent might just be a little more forthcoming with regards to retention deals, as they do try and sell you the best deal for their pocket, you will be willing to settle on, I wouldn't say it is a scummy tactic, but rather I think they have quotas on how many of the better deals they can sell in a set period, it wouldn't surprise me if this is indeed true, push a little and see what happens might get lucky.
