Check out the yebo4less TopUp, I'm on MyCall100, but will be leaving when that expires in March... Am not even considering MTN for the next contract. It's Virgin vs. Voda at this stage...

Yebo4less does not apply to me, as I am interested in the top up packages for data.

Just a hint for you, Vodacom does not have the "wait till next month" thing. You can buy bundles the moment your current one depletes. If you use up 10MB in one day, then you buy another 10MB bundle and so on.
Can someone official please confirm this is correct? As far as I can tell from the Vodacom website, there is still the one bundle a month limit???
Thanks

Actually at the moment I am trying to find out if there is a difference - ie if Vodacom does allow what MTN doesn't.. in order to decide on my next contract.
Maybe I should have started a new thread but I was reacting to a post on this one...

Vodacom does not have a limit on the bundles you can purchase in any given month.

Hey Guys,

Yes, I know I am resurrecting an old thread, but this is the closest one I could find relating to my question.

My bother got an Iphone 4 on the MTN Anytime 200 contract, so he gets R200 each month to use. AFAIK, I know you can use some/all of that to purchase a data bundle with?

Is this correct and if it is, please tell me how to do it? I have dialled *141*6# and followed the prompts and tried to buy a R10 (10mb) bundle and tried to buy the 2GB (R389) bundle with no success. It keeps on telling me that I do not have sufficient airtime.

PS: Available airtime = R389.51

Thanx. :)

As far as I know, you cannot buy data bundles with your inclusive airtime, you'll need to load additional airtime.
You can however, use part of your inclusive airtime for data, but at out-of-bundle rates.

Yep, only Vodacom's Top Up airtime allows the purchase of data bundles from bundled airtime.

Not sure if this will help anyone now:

I am on Topup 100 on MTN, just loaded a 75mb bundle, and then 30 seconds later a 10mb bundle. So it does work to load bundles one after each other and you dont have to wait till the next month.
These were loaded out of additional airtime I loaded, not the R100 I get each month

Yes, it is possible. I have bought a data bundle with my airtime. I think a 75 mb bundle is R49 rand. Although it doesnt last long at all on a smartphone.
I'm not too sure about the sms, i assume you can to that too.

I ususally do it through mtn's website. Just a warning, their website is horrible and slow.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

EDIT: Appearantly you can't anymore.

As I understand it that is when you buy a montly bolt on data bundle (contract type). If you buy a once off prepaid bundle it uses your airtime.

Confirmed. I am on the Top Up 100, just bought a R10 10mb bundle. Exactly R10 gone from my airtime. (I chose the "once off" bundle, not the recurring one)
Thanks for confirming. And this is from the original R100 airtime, you haven't "topped up" at all this month?

This definitely wasn't the case previously:
Hi
The old and the new topup packages dont allow the inclusive Rand value to be used on any add ons e.g. databundles SMS bundles etc
Regards

I already signed the papers for my "contract, ball and chain" the guy told me I "Should be able to use includive monthly airtime for data bundles". If they phone me to confirm that my contract is accepted, will I still be able to give them the finger?

Cheers
