Hi there,
I wanted to ask those who are using MTN fibre how do you actually check your data usage? I have sent an email asking them but they don't seem to reply.
Can anyone advise?
When you signed up you should have registered a username (cellphone type number 078xxxxxxx) and a password. Use that at https://mycontract.mtn.co.za/ to login, and check bandwidth/get invoices etc.
My ftth username is also a cellphone type number i.e. 278774xxxx@ftth.mtn.co.za with different password, used for PPPoE session on Fibre Router.
Note that MTN changed the 278774xxxx@ftth.. number for some reason at end of September, and have forgotten to add the Bonus data and Night data in October (Bonus Data available to customers signing up before 1st October 2016 only).

I've got the exact same issues, no view of bonus or night time data available on their portal so I'm having to call support to confirm all the time. Hopefully they fix soon...
Does anyone know when data bundles are reset? I was told 15th of the month which seems strange?
I got my invoice today too and there was an extra charge of R500 odd that should not be on it, it have logged it with them.
I don't know how they can track remaining data, mine has been on 704GB for days and does not drop. I am on 200GB normal + 100GB bonus + nighttime so don't know how it is possible to have 704GB remaining. Maybe it's rolling over.
Anyone ever been capped?
... When you get capped your browser opens to a default page to buy more data its only happenend to me once and was easy to top up.
I disagree, and have emailed MTN support about this too.
When ftth is capped you get browser saying you exceeded limit, but trying to actually purchase a top-up is near impossible... as your bandwidth is so heavily throttled that the website shop.mtn.co.za times out when logging in, especially because of international website links behind the scene (Google analytics and Ad servers and the like) being even more heavily throttled.
The only way I can buy a top-up is via lousy 3G signal on my smartphone, standing in corner of the garden, and having to remember various usernames and passwords. They should make it EASY to purchase, not impossible.
The install process is pretty good (done by contractors) but their backend systems leave much to be desired
What's the service like? International speeds, P2P downloads, throttling etc? How does it compare to a 40Mbps DSL with capped data?
