I am considering moving from Vox/Openserve FTTH to MTN Fibre as both openserve and fibre are trenched in our area.

Reason for considering MTN, is
Line is symmetrical
For the price of 949, I get a 50mbps line which i what I pay for a 20/10 line with Vox

I am happy with my vox service and want to change due to cost savings and a need for faster upload due to work and uploading work to cloud storage.

I don't torrent and Netflix and amazon / Spotify / YouTube is all that we normally use

They are offering free installation and choice of contacts. If I choose month to month then its a 100 bucks more.

Can any current customers of MTN provide feedback?

I was on MTN direct for about a year - 20/20 and 50/50 - honestly had almost no problems at all. I have switched to Cool Ideas as a data provider now for uncapped (slightly cheaper than the 200GB), and I've had more problems with them in a few weeks than I had with MTN in almost a year.. the problems on Cool Ideas seem to be on MTN's side but it seems like it's more teething issues with open access.

MTN's web portal is quite ****ty and disjointed, and their email support is very slow - but telephone support for Fibre is good and fairly quick turnaround time.

PS: I stream netflix/hulu/spotify/prime - not a gamer. Both CISP and MTN I've had no issues with streaming.

They told me 14 days to install. But now that i heard about rain since my area is covered. So will likely give them a go first instead of paying for install fee for MTN and then going thru potential hell.

Thx

Took 1 week for them to send out someone to survey for installation and then another week for them to do the install, installer took around 2 hrs on site. Overall a painless experience.

They never charged me for installation and I didn't opt for the long term contract.
