I've been trying to cancel my contract for a week now with no satisfaction.
Emails. No go.
Phoned the helpline - get cut off EVERY BLOODY time.

I logged a message on the front page of the MTN Facebook this morning. Also send a message on Facebook.
So far no reply. I dont actually expect a reply. From what I have now seen is that MTN has a non existent customer service department.

I will never get any MTN product again. Never again.

Now how the hell do I end this miserable contract (which has expired two weeks ago)????!
The next debit order is going off on the 1st of May. Can I load a stoporder at the bank to refuse the payment? What recourse do I have? :confused:

Yes, you'll only get somewhere by going in to a "Service Centre" & get a ref. no. for the cancellation.

IMO, you should've started the process at least 2 weeks before the final due date, so as not to go into an additional month. I remember confirming cancellation (date) of my one & only MTN contract a full month before it was due by going in to the Serv. Ctr., a few years ago.

Then, went in on the exact day they gave me, to ensure cancellation, and got them to type a letter (there & then) confirming the contract was cancelled.

Worst service provider right now glad I jumped ship just using them on a pre paid basis right now, my wife on the other hand has so much issues with them and when you get through to the call centre they really cant help you at all.

Rookie error. Everyone on MTN knows that if you have a problem you go to a branch.

and ensure you are there when the doors open, otherwise it will be a long wait.

My closest branch is chilled. You can go anytime and you won't wait more than a few minutes. One of the few benefits of living in PE.

Wtf. I would make them sit with me while I try get through.

Hahaha... I have 2 contracts ending next month and I'm already dreading going through that process.
My last contract went through cancellation smoothly... I still have the documents I needed to fill in so I am just going to refill those in and email it to them without having to call the call center. Hopefully they wont give me hassles.

Arghh!! Just requested to move my number to prepaid this last Saturday. Took 40 mins of hold time (luckily wasn't cut off), got a ref number, but was told to expect a call on Monday. No call received. Do I start worrying?

Think I'm just going to attempt a port before the contract expires so that they don't 'accidentally' rid me of my number - grr...

I've been trying to cancel since the 5th of this month. 808 gets cut off, sometimes and soon as I press 0 to speak to an operator. Tried the email route too with no success. Contract ends at the end of May.

Good luck in getting through to the callcenter after the SMS I just received.

Price increases across the board. Their website already DDOS hit because of it - I cannot open it.

Mine expired last month. I also want to cancel. 808 Cuts off always, sometimes when I hit 0 to go to a consultant, sometimes a few minutes after. I'm thinking I might go to hello peter and try that out

My contract is a month past its expiry. I've been trying to phone 808 over a month now. I've emailed, inboxed on facebook and still nothing. Went into the branch about 2 weeks ago and I was told the only way to cancel was through 808 , but good luck with that since the guy at the branch couldn't get through either.
