MTN launches legal action to fight spectrum auction issues

MTN has filed an application in the Gauteng High Court to declare unlawful, and to review, correct, or set aside two decisions made by ICASA which relate to the spectrum auction process.

The decisions which MTN are challenging are to classify the six applicants as Tier 1 and Tier 2, and to then exclude Tier 1 applicants from a part of the spectrum auction.

Talk about needing the spectrum yet...

Queue Vodacom with their legal challenge, Liquid telecom and then Rain would follow.

Poor Cell C will be on the sidelines crying, "we are too broke to mount a challenge."

Eish!!!!

These people, first Telkom, now MTN, and who ever else decides to climb on the band wagon.

In the end, we will wait another 30 years for spectrum to be available while some idiots try and find another way of milking the whole process of as much cash as they can.

What's wrong with these people who make the regulations that everything lands up in court?

Buying time, while the figure out how to milk the process to the max. Then they bugger it up and in 10 years they have to do it again and of course, they get to milk the process all over again.
