Mtn LTE Coverage

Something really strange happened this morning - I picked up my phone and noticed I have LTE coverage. This is strange because I live in Estcourt, KZN - a small town. Only major SA places seem to have coverage from my experience; Durban/North Coast, JHB and Cape Town. I'm not complaining - just strange.

Something really strange happened this morning - I picked up my phone and noticed I have LTE coverage. This is strange because I live in Estcourt, KZN - a small town. Only major SA places seem to have coverage from my experience; Durban/North Coast, JHB and Cape Town. I'm not complaining - just strange.

Same thing happened to me. Their coverage map shows absolutely no LTE in Sinoville/Wonderboom area of Pretoria. Worked on the laptop and suddenly connected to MTN LTE. Wish they would update their coverage map.

Yeah happened to me too way back then. After I noticed LTE for the first time it took about 2 months before they actually added it to the coverage map.

I feel MTN is expanding LTE faster than Vodacom or maybe they are just targeting areas that Vodacom are not focusing on right now but I see MTN towers and LTE popping up everywhere.

Noticed a ad in the local paper for 3 MTN towers. 1 month later those towers were build and up and running.
