Hi Guys, (MTNDD, Snakepit or Pitbull)

Any help here would be greatly appreciated...

I Went to MTN Service Centre to port back to MTN as prepaid from vodacom prepaid.

I duly waited 2 months (62 days) to be exact.

First they complained that I can't port from contract to prepaid (after plenty of explaining they accepted that I was actually on Prepaid at vodacom and my original contract at MTN had nothing to do with the price of eggs)

Second, they tell me they want to contact Vodacom to check that I'm actually prepaid (even asking for my Vodacom sim card number), when I gave them the number the were 'astounded' that it wasn't the same as the MTN one.

Seeing that the Vodacom simcard number was incomprehensible they wanted my old MTN simcard number (that I discarded ages ago)... iiiish...

So they let me fill in the documentation, bill me R136 for a simcard and tell me that everything is fine.

At this point I inssist they put the port request through, and wonder-of-wonders it fails...

Next I get the blurb that it failled because I haven't waited three months... gracious, so I wait 15 minutes for everyone in the service centre to echo, yes it's three months after which I ask them to check their own website (2 months is clearly stated their)

All this took an hour and I'm no closer to being ported yet... it took under 30 minutes to port to vodacom and they knew exactly what to do and how to get it done.

the guys at MTN in Rivonia don't have a clue, who can help me here?

Hey PB and DataDude...

Still nothing, I've got a simcard but still no port. I went back to the MTN SS in PE (on leave for 2 weeks) on Friday and I'm still not ported... and still waiting for the call on Saturday morning that never came.

There is some major misinformation about MNP in the service centres and They just arn't porting me, at this rate I may as well stay at VCom 'cause it's just too much trouble.

Any further assist would would be appreciated, should I perhaps let loose on Hello Peter?

Thx,
D

Okay, now I've been told I can't port from Vodacom prepaid to MTN prepaid because I was on MTN contract previously... are MTN now forcing me to stay at Vodacom? This is getting me a little grisley bearish. where is this new nonsense coming from after all I'm porting from Vodacom and confirmed I could do all this before starting this process off!
