MTN is rebranding — starting with the logo outside its Joburg offices

MTN is preparing to launch a major rebrand on 27 February, simplifying its logo and using “Y’ello” instead of its old tagline, “Everywhere you go”.

The new logo is already visible outside MTN’s offices near the 14th Avenue offramp to the N1 freeway.
Why the double post?

When I see that, and I think of how many meetings and $ went into designing that.. It makes me wanna puke.

What is it with the "modern" logo designs that makes them look like they can be built entirely from CSS by a 1st year CS student.

This just reminded me of the yebo gogo ad from vodacom. Sigh blast from the past.

I don't see any '$' in that design.

“Y’ello” is written in stylised white text on the same yellow background.
According to Google Translate "Y'ello" must be Spanish:

Seriously Google, why is there no "Decolonised" language option?

10 minutes in Inkscape, tops?

You think they designed it themselves? Pull a Makate and did the design internal? I wasn't involved personally, but from past experience, this was likely outsourced to and there was pitch meetings and drinking sessions and meetings around the shade of blue....

errrhmmm.. my reply was a joke about the character '$' in the design.

Its ugly. Excellent.

Certainly fits the stale, corporate, monotone company it represents.
