So I apply for a SME Business contract for a Samsung Note 10.1 with MTN on 13 December through the MTN shop at Cape Gate. That evening the friendly and helpful Thembi phones me to let me know that they require a Water and Electricity bill for proof of residence - not the Telkom bill I handed in. I don't have one as it goes to our family trust in another town. I only have a Telkom bill. I send them a nice mail saying that I run my CC from home. My landline number and address is on my Telkom bill, letterhead and CK registration documents.

This morning I get a mail saying that they can't proceed as they NEED a water and light bill...:wtf:

My current MTN phone sim card (since 1996) as well as my Vodacom sim card in my tablet were all RICA'd with my Telkom bill.

I told them if what I've given them isn't enough, they must cancel the application...:mad::mad:

Anyone else had this problem before? How do you get around it?

apply via mtn direct.
do an affidavit and attach to phone bill.

or get an edgars account or bank statement redirected to your home address.
ask them to email it. print and fold it, provide that as proof.

FICA.

and strangely enough, it is apparently legal to have a letter from your priest if you don't have a formal physical address.

You cannot apply for an SME contract via MTN Direct, only personal contracts
