MTN SMS messages not delivered to Orange in UK

I have same problem with receiving MTN messages to Orange in UK
Hi Dr Data. I would be most grateful if you could help me out. I ported my number from o2 to Orange in UK and since then have not been able to receive texts from MTN users / family in SA. If you can help resolve it would make me very happy. I have PM'd my UK mobile number to you a few days ago - if you need me to send it again, or if you need other mobile info, please let me know. Many thanks.

After doing some searching on uncle Google I came across this thread as it is similar to my problem, i.e. my text messages not being received by the other party in the UK but my recipient lives in Ireland. Texting back and forth between MTN and Vodafone in Ireland works just fine but my text messages to the Tesco mobile phone aren't being delivered but I can receive the text message from the Tesco phone.
I've sent you a PM with a bit more info.

That not all of Mtn is useless.

This SMS problem has been around for sometime it appears and now suddenly my wife cannot SMS our daughter in Ireland. Vodacom SMS's go through OK. I will PM Dr_Data with the details (per the previous posts) assuming he/she is still around in the hope he/she will be able to fix. This is nothing to do with Orange in the UK as far as I know and nothing has been knowingly changed by either party in at least the past 12 months. Would have thought MTN could have fixed this by now. Whatever.
Update.
Well I did that but got no response and the problem persists - MTN has been giving us a real run-around. First it was the phone at fault - swapped sim to new phone - no better. Next it must be the sim - upgraded to new sim - no better. Next MTN became unreachable - local shop phone on voicemail, call centre not answering. Went to local shop in person ( this is Shelly Centre, Shelly Beach, KZN ) - Oh Dear, problem not fixed? Don't understand - we will check and call you. No call. So we tried a few other things - some friends and family also on MTN contracts tried to text my daughter's number in Ireland and also my nephew in the UK - no sms received by either. Next, I acquired an 8ta sim (pay as you go) and sent text to Ireland ( in this area, 8ta uses MTN network - at least my phone says so). Guess what? Text delivered almost instantly and replied to nogal.
So what we are going to do in the absence of any improvement is to dump the MTN contract as soon as it expires (November) and go pay as you go on Vodacom unless someone is monitoring this and can give us some sensible feedback.
