Hi,

My parents use MTN LTE and have a email address with axxess.
Since switching from telkom adsl to mtn lte they cant send emails.
I tried changing the smtp server from telkoms one to mtn's but doesnt seem to be working?
tried mail.mtn.co.za port 25, 465
tried smtp.mtn.co.za port 25, 465

no luck.

Any ideas?

Hi there,

Please use the following SMTP settings, which should do the trick:

SMTP: smtp.mtn.co.za
Port: 25
(Authentication disabled)
(Encryption disabled)
(PSA disabled)

or
mail.mtn.co.za
Port: 25
(Authentication disabled)
(Encryption disabled)
(PSA disabled)

Please ensure that Authentication, Encryption & PSA are all disabled as the network does not allow SMTP relay passthrough, and so every time you connect to another ISP, you will need to update the SMTP settings.

This should resolve the problem. If you need any more assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Regards,
Captain Axxess

Rather do the settings in Control panel -> Mail.

Seems to work better.

Also, pictures speak 1000 words.

Hi there,
It could not be functioning this way because the task may need to be performed from Outlook's backend. Using this method, Outlook will not log the action.

Please send us your Axxess account number, and we'll arrange for our escalations manager to get in contact to assist with the matter.

All I know is that this is AIDS, always an issue when sending from a relay server.

Try this, create a new profile in outlook and test. If that fails, try in thunderbird.

If nothing works, then the person will have to send emails via the Axxess webmail (if there is even one). It will suck but its the only option.

Yes, and we made contact that we can assist your parents, have you been to download AnyDesk for us to be able to walk you through the mail settings?

We'll arrange a call during the day with a knowledgeable agent to assist you.

Hi Again,

My parents seem to be having the same issue. They have a axxess email account and mtn internet.
Last time it was they could not send emails using emails using mail.mtn.co.za and smtp.mtn.co.za.
So after speaking with axxess they took control of my parents pc and managed to get there emails to send using smtp.uls.co.za. but now after many months of it working, its now giving the same error message.

So i decided to try these mail.mtn.co.za and smtp.mtn.co.za and still same error message.
I then put back smtp.uls.co.za and still same error message.

Anyone have any ideas?
