Good to hear that MTN is feeding the fibre needs of its business model :).
makes buying telkom seem a little distant...
Let's hope telkom will soon be a distant memory for us :D
Ditto what dominic posted, now I wonder what Vodacom has to say about its self-provisioning - a progress report would be nice...

@ShaunSA, I suspect Telkodemonopolies and the disastrous mess made by Poison Ivy & Jay Naidoo before her, will be remembered for a very very very long time - the one-party-guavamint must be reminded not to make the same mistakes of its past.

personally i would like to see telkom die a slow and lingering death and be given the opportunity to dance on its grave

You will have to do that before everyone takes their dogs for a defecation stroll past Telkodemonopolies' grave...

Personally I'd join the dogs in having a nice relaxed pee on telkom's grave

MTN does not have landing rights in Pretoria. Plus the fiber cables are supposed to be black instead of transparent.

I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one, but solid fertilizer has more potential of mushrooming into something useful, just beware the toadstools.

Given how quickly the metro's have been recouping their investments, it will not surprise me if MTN recovers the R1.3bn investment in Telkom savings within 6-12 months. Just hope they are able to reduce costs for the customer and not simply a case of the profits going to MTN instead of Telkom.
