MTN: Unable to receive calls from Cell C and Virgin Mobile

My wife's an MTN contract customer and has been unable to receive phone calls from Cell C and Virgin Mobile subscribers for the last 3 weeks - callers receive a "Subscriber does not exist" message, no dial tone, nothing.

History on the number - it was originally ported from Vodacom to Virgin Mobile and then finally from Virgin to MTN a couple of years ago.

The MTN call centre and outlet I've been to are clueless - all I've got out of them is a reference number and an indicative 4 -15 working day resolution time which I have little faith in.

Any network engineers on the forum that can assist me please?
