Hi Guys,

I received this email recently from MTN when I enquired why it takes an hour or more for e-mail to be delivered to my MTNloaded account:

"Hi,

The e-mail service is not very stable at the moment. The product
development guys are looking at ways to acquire advanced technologies to
handle these instabilities."

In case anyone else is also having this problem...

Yeah, same here.

Registered with MTNLoaded & created new mail account.

Then MTN sent me a confirmation sms with the account details & settings + password.

I created the new mailbox on my phone with exact same details, but when I try to connect, it just disconnects me with an error.

Thanks, MTNDD!

I've got iBurst email, but it's always good to have a backup email account... for private use & when iBurst mail is not working.

One positive thing at least is that they were honest about it not working as it should.

If you click "Send Receive" in OE and it gives you an error message, just keep sending it and it will eventualy go thru.
Have you configured your OE to MTN ?CONFIGURE OUTLOOK EXPRESS AS FOLLOWS;
TOOLS---ACCOUNTS---ADD --- MAIL. Now just follow
the prompts.
PROPERTIES---SERVERS
INCOMING MAIL(POP3) mail.mtnloaded.co.za
OUTGOING MAIL(SMTP) mail.mtn.co.za
ACCOUNT NAME; CELL NO.
PW ; AS ENTERED AT MTN WEBSITE.ie.Pin No.

I am not using an external (POP) mail client to do this.

I log on to MTN's Web Site and send/receive it from there (IMAP). It takes at least an hour before a message that I sent from another account shows up there, if at all.

We are in the process of looking at another Email platform as MTNLOADED mail has been giving us a lot of problems lately

It seems that although I have ported from Vodacom to MTN, MTNLoaded does not see my account as an MTN account.

Retrieving email from mtn.co.za does not always work as it saves the body of the email as an attachment which can be opened, but unfortunatly sometimes it says the body is saved as an attachment but it is missing. Then your email is gone for keeps.
By using OE to retrieve mtnloaded email, you will not miss any email. OE works every time for me since inception.
