Grants. They have lost billions in tax income from tax payers fleeing the country, unemployment and slump in economy, businesses no longer generating the income they did before and now resorting to retrenchments, rising inflation, rising interest rates, etc. Grant payments are their top priority, as it buys votes and keep them in power.
 
Mybroaband has so many articles defending MTN its getting creepy, like a stalker, or lovechild of the CEO.

MTN collects R8.1 billion in taxes from taxpayers. All tax are paid directly or indirectly by taxpayers...which is everyone, even the illegal immigrant and the criminal. Companies are just agents to collect it via various channels.
