South Africa greenlights R7-billion battery storage project
Cape Town green energy firm Mulilo Energy Holdings has reached financial close on three Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects that will add a combined energy storage capacity of 1,028MWh to the national grid.
Mulilo is carrying out the projects with EDF International, Pele Green Energy, and Gibb Crede. The first of the three projects to reach financial close was Oasis Mookodi, which has a capacity of 77MWAC (megawatts, alternating current) or 308MWh.
