The results in the table below shows that DStv Premium’s price is in line with other providers. It can even be considered to offer good value-for-money – thanks to the excellent Supersport offering.
Not everyone is a sport fanatic. Repeats, loud noisy ads and an over-inflated monthly premium sub is good value for money?

Broadband & TV
Save on our superfast Fibre & TV
Average speeds of 63Mb
Over 300 Entertainment channels
Free unlimited calls with Sky Talk
Save £7 when taking Fibre & TV together

Sky Fibre Max + Sky Entertainment
£49£42a month for 18 months

Now can you compare that to dstv?

Directly comparing salaries with first-world foreign counterparts just through a basic Rand-Dollar conversion? Seriously? Now mybb "journalism" has sunk to a whole new low in its ignorance of such matters methinks.
What would you have done sherlock?

Really mybroadband.. Do you have no shame. How can you compare UK prices with SA prices if you'd be earning more in the UK (as you've also obviously stated).

Guess logic does not matter when your promoting scum. Wonder what that makes mybb.

So.. MYBB members, can we start a poll or something to stop this? Let's have a vote. It's just getting worse.

We've been through this many times, even with MC. Comparing buying power Dstv is much more expensive and roundabout on par if you take all the sport. Then with Sky you even get broadband thrown into the mix. There's just no comparison.

Cost of living, price indexes… hello?

The Virgin Media VIP bundle is an insane value compared to us, seeing that you will need to compare it to DStv and DStv Now (to include broadband).

https://www.virginmedia.com/shop/personalise/vip-extras.html

The VIP bundle
Full House TV + Sports
and Movies

  • 260+ channels
  • Sky Sports in HD
  • Sky Cinema in HD
VIVID 350
  • Unlimited broadband
  • Average speed 362Mbps
  • The UK’s fastest widely available broadband
Talk More Anytime
  • Inclusive anytime calls to UK landlines and mobiles, plus 0845/0870 numbers
Likewise, with Digital Premier, take the X1 Premier Double Play @ $134.99/mo. and get 150mbps broadband or the Premier XF Triple Play $159.99/mo. and 400mbps broadband included with a phone plan. Note that there are additional costs in relation to TV licensing and sports rights (regional).

https://www.cabletv.com/xfinity/bundles

Again the same with Foxtel,

https://www.foxtel.com.au/shop/broadband-bundles.html

https://www.foxtel.com.au/content/d...CIS_Foxtel_TV_Broadband_Home_Phone_Bundle.pdf (PDF)

AU$164/mth (Unlimited Broadband or Unlimited nbn™ Broadband + Platinum HD Bundle)

Not to mention that you may unbundle and bundle your own package.

Don't even start with the Sky bundles, they even give you a discount when you take TV with broadband... The UK things are summarised here: https://www.choose.co.uk/guide/get-sky-sports-cheaper-deals-offers.html

Value.

Go make a comparison chart with DStv + MWEB (oh... yeah, they don't have broadband packages).

Oh, broadband, uncapped (us) vs. unlimited (them)

Simply making the currency conversion does not show the real value of these salaries. Care must be taken as to analyse the value of that salary in the country of origin not converting it to make a point in a different country. For this kind of comparison we should not take currency to mind at all, but compare the numbers as they are cause these salaries are only comperative to their country of origin.
