South Africans dump DStv Premium — even after sport returned

DStv lost over 100,000 subscribers in its premium and mid-market segments, and made up the ground with its cheaper mass-market packages.

MultiChoice published its interim financial results for six months between 1 April and 30 September 2021, stating that a “challenging consumer climate” had a negative impact on its South African business.
 
Monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) declined 2% from R278 to R273.

When I was growing up, I was told I’d never even imagine seeing a million rands. But now that I’m older it seems everyone is playing in the billions. We are doing badly, we only made R17 billion

Haven't we said for the longest time that Multichoice will make even more money if they lower their prices?
