Perhaps with their DSTV products. I found them very forward thinking in launching showmax. Its cheap, its good, and every time I think its time to cancel not much more I want to watch they land more series that I get into for an affordable cost. Few companies are willing to compete with themselves as they did with Showmax and now even sport is moving onto their streaming side and into showmax. Heck, I watched the Rugby world cup final on showmax. So yes, but no. I think they are actually very forward thinking and had they not been Netflix would have utterly destroyed them. Instead they genuinely compete with Netflix, and in some areas (like BBC content) they outperform netflix.
Forward thinking? Huh? You do realize ShowMax was just a knee-jerk reaction after Netflix launched worldwide... right? And it's not even part of Multichoice anymore as they sold it. I think you must be confusing DSTV Now with ShowMax as I don't remember being able to watch the world cup final on Showmax

I was about to highlight that they had to make a company policy about this for a reason...

Vivendi already has a big market share in everything including streaming services.

It seems that the monolith that is Multichoice don't know what a "corporate takover" looks like?

So yea... they think Vivendi is seeing them as a long-term investment, whereas the rest of us can see that they're trying to acquire as much shares as possible to take over after talks of buying them had failed. This way, they can get a foothold in Africa with a well-known brand and then ACTUALLY deliver on choice/streaming services etc.
Hostile take over would be good, saying that they don't respond to third parties on comments is just another way of saying they don't give a Sh!it what their average customer says

Huh? Showmax is still under Multichoice. Was originally part of Naspers till they incorporated it into Multichoice just before unbundling it.

Just about everything you said in this post is wrong. Lol. I know exactly where I watched the world cup and it was showmax.
