DStv Internet launched

MultiChoice has launched DStv Internet with MTN as its network partner to provide Internet access to those who do not have access to fibre services.

The company said that the move is to diversify its offering as part of MultiChoice’s ongoing evolution from a traditional video entertainment business.

Jissus..

Out the box this is a mess..

Zero information on the landing page about DStv internet.. As far as I can tell, can only get DStv internet if you purchase a decoder, at least from the link in the article, that appears to be the case..

routers are either 1300 or 1800 depending on the model..

Don't see the 25GB, 110GB, 220GB packages the article mentions, just 20GB, 100GB and 200GB.. there is also no mention of whether you are paying R 779 once off or monthly for the 200GB package and since I can't add anything to the cart on the website, it appears you don't have the choice to select which data package you want with the decoder.. you are stuck with the default the website adds there..

Edit:

The mess here is the incorrect link added to the article...

This is the correct link: https://dstvinternet.multichoice.com/internet

Never been so confused, can someone explain to me in simple english what product is being sold here?
You can basically get a fixed LTE router from MTN, but paying through Multichoice.
The link in the article does not have any information on this service.

What kak is this? Just run the DSTV signal through fibre and reduce our premiums by like R300-R400

Didn't DSTV offer internet access via the their satellite service back in the day?

I distinctly remember it was some sort of add-on..

PLEASE fix the link in the article.. This is the correct link to find information about Dstv Internet:

The link you shared defaults to the Hardware and Accessories page..

Why do I have to do this proof reading for you..??

Lol, no. Just no.

All you would be able to do is access a set amount of sites that you can open, (most of them absolute k@k and you will never ever use it but still have to pay for it.) The websites will have a shyte load of adverts and it will be the exact same page every day on repeat.

No thanks, stuff it, monochoice

Agree, one would think we would be told how much it is too. Even clicking the link is futile.

It's just fixed LTE, as offered by other ISPs, except through DStv.. Seemingly only compatible with the DStv branded ZTE routers..
